how to have sleek, frizz-free hair on your next tropical vacay

Humidity has never been a friend of mine. Especially since my bleach-and-tone last year, hot, moist air causes my hair to frizz and destroys any styling instantly. I even ruled out the possibility of a wedding in Indonesia because of how poorly my hair behaves in the weather! I just don’t feel like myself with unruly, frizzy hair and that’s definitely not the look I’m going for on my wedding day (or any day for that matter)!

However, just prior to my most recent visit to Indonesia, I was introduced to John Frieda Hair Care’s Frizz Ease line. I was a little skeptical of how effective it would be, but on my second day of vacation I gave it a try. I thoroughly soaked my entire head of dry hair in their 10 Day Tamer and let it sit for 10 minutes. I followed that by washing with their Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment shampoo and conditioner. That night I let my hair air dry, and I ended up with beachy waves (how my hair naturally dries) but frizz-free ones as opposed to the usual fluffy mess!

To really put the products to the test, I decided to try wearing my hair straight the next evening. It came out just like it would at home and it stayed that way until I went swimming the following afternoon! I was so psyched! Literally the first time in my life that my hair has been manageable and normal on a tropical vacation.

Right now, John Frieda Hair Care is running a campaign called “Your Hair Talks. Make a Statement,” and I couldn’t relate to this theme more than I do right now, having gone from frizzy, out-of-control hair, which felt like such a poor representation of myself, to fresh, sleek, centered hair that says, “I’m completely pulled together!”

  • I can definitely relate to this! I love how the salty air makes my hair wavy, but the frizz has to go! Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

  • That’s amazing. As much as I love the beach, I dread the thought of frizzy hair!!
Ps, I love the name of your blog and the play on words!!

  • Hi Kaitlynn – I’ve been using these products for about 15 years now, i agree it totally works! Unfortunately the price has gone up a lot in the last couple of years, but it’s still a good value for what you’re getting.

Just curious – are you working with John Freda with regards to this point? Or did you happen to stumble on these products while traveling?

    Thanks as always Kaitlynn!
